This is gonna be an exciting match-up of the year for the ALA Boxing Promotions and gonna be the best boxing video to be watch on ABS-CBN TV. So up for now for the Donnie Nietes vs Juan Alejo fight.

The fights will be telecast on a slightly delayed basis over ABS-CBN Sports & Action at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday with a telecast on Channel 2 on “Sunday’s Best” in the evening. The fights will be telecast on Sky Cable free to viewers and will also be beamed to Nicaragua and on the widely watched TFC, the Filipino Channel.

The RING junior flyweight champion Donnie Nietes will make his U.S. debut on Oct. 17 when he faces unheralded contender Juan Alejo at StubHub Center in Carson, California. Nietes (36-1-4, 21 knockouts) will be making the eighth defense of the WBO title he won in 2011 after moving up from 105 following a reign at strawweight.

Pound for pound, Nietes is one of the best boxers out there scrapping today. Ring Magazine lists him as No. 1 in the light flyweight division. BoxRec has him second to Pedro Guevara. He is the longest-reigning Filipino champion in history and has successfully defended his WBO World title seven times since 2011.

Not only does he have a great reputation, but his bouts tend to be pretty darn good for spectators. Nietes is a technical boxer with excellent counter-punching instincts, and he hardly shies away from action. He's coming off a stoppage win over Gilberto Parra in March and a unanimous-decision victory over Francisco Rodriguez Jr., in July, a fight he won rather easily despite breaking his right hand in the seventh round.

If Donnie having this huge win, he can move up to flyweight division where many great boxers als there like Roman Gonzalez and Juan Francisco Estrada.
