If Szpilka pulls off the upset, he'll become boxing's first ever heavyweight champion -- that is, has one of the WBC/WBO/IBF/WBA belts -- out of Poland.
We will going to witness the fight between the undefeated WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder who will make the third defense of his title against brawling Polish contender Artur Szpilka in the 12-round SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING main event on Saturday, January 16, at Barclays Center. Undefeated heavyweight challengers Charles Martin and Vyacheslav Glazkov will also battle for the vacant IBF World Championship during a 12-round bout directly preceding Wilder vs Szpilka. This is the first championship in 115 years in Brooklyn.
